It´s not just the idyllic landscape which attracts guests to the nature reserve, but also the culinary produce of the local, agricultural region. Meat from the local farm, fresh fish from the ponds near Doberlug-Kirchhain and Thalberg, and game and fungi from local forests are all on offer. On the “Regional Menu” at the inns, traditional dishes and new creations are prepared from these ingredients. Throughout the year, you will find seasonal offers of delicacies such as Oppelhainer asparagus, Hohenleipischer cherry bread pudding (Kirschmichel), Monte Lugau Schwalben-nester (“Swallows’ Nests” containing veal) and Massdorfer fish stew here. Guests will also find the names of the respective regional producers on a separate menu.
